   Who We Are

Etowah Valley Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1970 under the name Union Carbide Federal Credit Union. The credit union was small in nature and only offered the basic services of a regular savings account and simple loans such as small personal loans and vehicle loans.

The credit union was one of the first in the state to offer share drafts in 1983. Soon after, the credit union also added IRAs and Certificates to the services offered to our membership. In 1985, the board purchased property and moved into our own building. At that time the name changed to Etowah Valley Federal Credit Union to better reflect the goals of the credit union to begin serving select employee groups within the area known as the Etowah Valley.

During the last few years, the credit union has expanded our space as well as our services. We now offer debit/atm cards, 24-hour audio response, home equity lines of credit, and 1st mortgages to our members as well as an array of other lending products.

In 2001, POCO Federal Credit Union (Polk County School System) merged into our credit union and the National Credit Union Administration approved adding the entire county of Bartow to our field of membership. On May 1, 2005, All Star Credit Union merged with Etowah Valley FCU, immediately providing a branch office on the North side of Catersville on Grassdale Road.

A voluntary board of directors administers Etowah Valley FCU and establishes and reviews policy. The Directors are credit union members who are elected by the membership and serve without pay.

Etowah Valley Federal CU offers the utmost in security to our members. Accounts are insured up to $250,000 through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. government agency.
